I am writing from home and on quarantine because I am infected with Covid-19. I have had much time to think and contemplate. The first thing I realized is God is in control not the virus. As long as I have my faith in the Lord I know I will be OK.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” ~ Hebrews 11:1
Faith is believing that God exists, that he rewards those who seek him and that we can hope in him because his promises will always be true. Faith does not require perfection, but consistent belief that God is in control and we are to live in accordance to His will. A life of faith is lived in believing the promises of God to be true and clinging to them when we are uncertain. Faith does not need to see to believe. Faith tells us God is in control.
Through the Pandemic and subsequent “lockdown” orders, “stay at home”, “self distancing”, “wearing a mask is required” “wearing masks is not sensible.” Don’t let fear run you life. Let your life be led by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Two words describe our faith: confidence and certainty. These two qualities need a secure beginning and ending point. The beginning point of faith is believing in God’s character; He is who He says He is. The end point is believing in God’s promises; He will do what He says He will do.
When we believe that God will fulfill His promises even though we don’t see those promises materialize, we have Faith.
After the resurrection of Jesus Chris “Doubting Thomas” still had a problem to which Jesus replied:
“Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed…. But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. ~ John 20:29, 30
